The Conero by bike
Fabulous landscapes and panoramas
A careful visit to Monte Conero certainly takes more than a day, but one day maight be enough to get a first impression.
If in the summer you will find several tourists exploring the Conero paths, in the spring and autumn months you can enjoy the beauty of the promontory, with it's spectacular colors especially in the early hours of the morning (when the eastern side of the mountain is in full sun), in complete tranquility. Starting from our hotel, we suggest to reach the beautiful bay of Portonovo. Before going down to the bay, you will find several observation points where you can stop to photograph the beautiful arch of the sea, the "Trave"; the rocky barrier that is at the water's edge and it goes towards the sea.
The two lakes of Portonovo, with their characteristic marsh vegetation, deserve several photographic shots, especially now, which have undergone an innovative restyling.
Do not miss to walk the path that, among tall holm oaks, reaches the suggestive and the solitary romanesque church of Santa Maria, the eightteenth-century watchtower and the Napoleonic Fort.
On the Conero road, going towards Sirolo- past the theater of 'Le Cave' - towards the top of the mountain, you can find several characteristic restaurants, where you can taste excellent dishes of the Marche tradition. Continuing on the road, you will reach the town of Sirolo, the pearl of the Adriatic.
